Premier presents Owners & Breeders Awards
The Caviar legacy continues at the Victorian Owners and Breeders Awards. The cream rose to the top once again at the annual Victorian Owners and Breeders Awards held at the Myer Mural Hall on Thursday night. Premier of Victoria and Minister for Racing, Denis Napthine, was on hand to help celebrate the success and growth of the Victorian thoroughbred breeding and racing industry at the intimate event conducted by Racing Victoria in conjunction with Thoroughbred Breeders Victoria (TBV) and the Thoroughbred Racehorse Owners Association (TROA).

Golden delight for owners
More than 53,000 owners will shortly receive their golden ticket to racing in Victoria next season A golden delight will arrive in mailboxes over the coming weeks as the new Victorian Owners’ Gold Card is delivered by Racing Victoria (RV) to more than 53,000 racehorse owners. The Victorian Owners’ Gold Card will arrive in letterboxes, activated and ready for use, along with a car pass for the 2013-14 racing season.

New Flemington owners and trainers facility to be open for Spring Racing Carnival
Flemington racecourse will be home to one of Australia’s premier owners and trainers’ facilities thanks to a joint investment by the State Government and the Victoria Racing Club (VRC). Premier and Minister for Racing Denis Napthine today announced funding for the $1.2 million upgrade, which includes constructing a new owners and trainers’ facility in the undercroft area of the members grandstand; refurbishing the existing winning owners’ facilities; and relocating the raceday and ticketing office to the Heritage Centre near the main car park entrance.

PREMIER trainer Peter Moody broke an unusually long drought of city winners when his consistent Club Command won Heat 6 of the Winter Championship Series at Flemington. Victorian Horse of the Year Finalists
Racing Victoria (RV) has today announced the five finalists for the 2012 Staging Connections Victorian Racehorse of the Year Award. The award, which is voted on by members of the media, takes into account performances on Victorian tracks only during the 2011-12 season which commenced on 1 August. The winner will be announced at the Victorian Thoroughbred Racing Awards presented by Tabcorp at Crown’s Palladium on Sunday night, 12 August.
